PLay, Play, Play - Initial ideas and exploration.

- In approaching this brief, I gathered and listed as many different interpretations of the word 'BAND' as possible. Within a broad selection of definitions, I looked at unusual meanings. I focused on ones that i felt had the most creative potential to develop forward.
- To begin with i simply sketched out ideas that i initially thought of before focusing on a smaller selection for my roughs, splitting them into image, image and text, and text alone. i kept a broad range of definitions to give me more options for development.
- I felt that I have tackled this first part of the brief successfully. i have explored a range of possible approaches backed up by supporting research. i have used a frame to work in for the roughs which has allowed me to think more about composition at and early stage. I like a number of ideas and would be happy to develop a selection of them further. I look forward to gaining feedback from my peers.

One meaning of band refers to a nomadic tribe hunting together. - feel that this is quite a unique interpretation. -
other images; band of animals - bit  obvious? develop further

Advised to explore type more, - but liked the idea of incorporating objects into words.

Band of stars, wedding band, band of colour - all ideas that i feel have potential to develop forward.

Peer feedback. - My peers responding well to my initial exploration of ideas. They felt i had explored a wide range of designs - by not limiting myself to a couple of ideas i will broaden my possibilities for development. The response was generally that my roughs were neat and the ideas clear. - some were less obvious than other but that thats sometimes a good thing.
I felt that through the designing process, some of my ideas didn't translate as well onto paper, and others i was unsure about, so i found the peer feedback extremely useful because it allowed me to see what others responded well to, and what they didn't like.
 - Others opinions have helped to narrow down the selection of ideas to push forward. The feedback has allowed me to establish a selection of my more successful designs.

The next stage is to develop the more successful designs, that I feel have the most potential. These include; band of stars, band of colour, wedding band, band of animals, and band together. I aim to experiment with a board range of media and approaches before finalising 3 images. I have actually really enjoyed this initial exploration, I found that i had a lot of inspiration, and am excited to continue to develop this brief.
