Visual Language - Line and Tone

- I enjoyed this weeks task of considering both line and tone. In this task i initially gravitated towards producing quite detailed and liberal interpretations, which i think have been quite successful. Within the challenge i wanted to employ different mark making techniques, such as dot work, hatching and cross hatching. I have found these methods have forced me to be more considerate about the way in which i interpret the reference material. - making sense of that information by considering direction of line, and separating the details from tonal areas.

- I found drawing the same subject over again beneficial.
- I do like the detail produced with a fine liner, - small fine marks building up a gradual change in tone effective, however in future i aim to be more creative and selective with the reference material. - more uniques interpretations.

- I began to be more experimental with media as well as considering mark making methods, but defiantly could have pushed this further. - feel that I can still employ these mark making techniques but work expressively with more fluidity of line.
- dry brush strokes - harder to control, but nice fluidity. - like the contrast between textured line and flat line, - separates the information.
