Dragon Mythology - Ernst Drake - book research

Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons is a 2003 fiction book written by Dugald Steer, published by Templar Publishing.
I remember being so enchanted and engaged by this book as a child. Its one that was very special to me, and captured my interest for a long time. Like the Spiderwick Chronicles, there is something about being drawn into an unknown mythical world that was so appealing to me - and many children alike.
This book peaked my interest for this project - not just for the beautiful illustrations, but for the 'factual' approach it takes with informing the audience about dragons and myths. It talks about them as if they are real, and as if this book is a a documentation of the history of dragons. I think this is such an interesting and clever move to make - to really entice a young audience and make them believe they're part of something real.
- I should perhaps consider, that if appealing to children - and if i was to approach character and narrative, - other ways of telling a story to engage and audience in an interesting and imaginative way like this book does.

It includes:
- sections of historical letters
- factual details about dragons and where to find them
- Maps of the hidden world
- samples of dragon scales and teeth.
- historical encounters with dragons.
