Collage and Ephemera - Benon Lutaaya

Collage isn't something i have really attempted before, so I looked for inspiration before attempting the task. I found the work of Benon Lutaaya really inspiring. Within his work he paints to convey an emotional story, illustrating the fragility of life from his own personal experiences.
He uses abstract imagery in his college which represents the act of survival. His collages are a combination of mixed media and paper - he aims to 'mix paint with vision, collage with story, and text with meditation.
i really like the aesthetics of his pieces. he chooses textures to match the painterly play of light. - the way he build up tone through layering, creates a real 3 dimensional effect on a flat surface. The rich colours and contrast are really striking.
