Visual Language - Frame

The elephant, butterfly and me.
I enjoyed this weeks task because we were forced to work at a faster pace. i found the time limit to be really beneficial to me as I didn't worry about the small details but focused more about the composition and shape. i think producing the roughs for this task was really useful in determining the best outcome. Over the last few weeks,I've found that drawing out roughs is becoming more of an integral part of my designing process. planning a composition really allows you to see what works and what doesn't.
The final piece however, isn't as successful as i would have liked. composition wise, I think the subjects are very much proportioned within the frame, In future tasks I would like to start playing with scale, and exaggerating proportions more to create a stronger sense of depth. It is important that i remember to follow the roughs when creating my final imagery as in this instance, my rough composition was more successful than the final outcome.
Working with ink in very limited time was challenging. if attempting the image again, I would have used more controlled line, and perhaps worked with pure negative space and block tone.
