Existing book cover designs - A clockwork orange

I didn't want to look too closely that existing artwork, because i wanted to respond to the story and come up with some initial thoughts and conceptual ideas on my own without being influenced or distracted by other artists work.

- I feel a little underwhelmed by this book cover honestly. I don't feel that the illustration reflects the content of the story well - the glass is something thats featured within, but not a key aspect i would take away from the novel. - Perhaps it has a deeper meaning or symbolises something i fail to see? For new readers anyway, i don't feel that it will stir much interest from passers by.

Ben Jones
  • Bens work is a contemporary and exciting interpretation of the novel.
  • unique and striking imagery. eye catching and bold, the kind of artwork that will be noticed on a book shelf.
  • love the textures and shape based work featured inside too. - really helps the reader to engage with the story - creates a good atmosphere and sets a dark tone.

- i think these designs are also quite intriguing and interesting, and well communicate themes within the story. However, as seen here, this kind of visual approach has been taken a few times, and is perhaps a bit over done. I aim to steer away from this concept.
