Evaluation

I felt that time caught up with me towards the end of the brief. I faced few struggles, and ended up steering away from initial plans, which in turn has made me struggle with timing. However, i feel that i have created quite a successful set of work that answers the brief. - some more so than others.
- initially i wanted the same theme to clearly run through all pieces for them all to look very similar - perhaps then they would have worked better as a set, however i have used colour, and media to tie them together which i think has worked successfully. I also quite like the variety between each one; it has allowed me to employ different skills which i have enjoyed.
- I began to use photo sop more which has really benefitted my final out comes. the overall quality is a lot more professional, and i have enjoyed manipulating my images.

Postcards

Poster

- I feel that my postcards and poster have been the most successful. the concept behind these pieces; my aim was to display Bettie Pages mental struggles - the pressure that the modelling put her through, the darker side lesser known about her life.
- the stamps i feel like i really had to rush towards the end so the concept isn't really there. however, i used photoshop to create the whole piece which i was a bit wary about, but i was actually quite pleased with the outcome.
initially i struggle to approach this. - I found it difficult to simplify the information, but eventually became bolder in my decision making. - so my intended meaning behind each piece isn't represented as literally - the concept can be vague. perhaps people didn't have to know my intention, but i still wanted to make them feel a certain way when viewing the pieces, - feel the negative emotion. I think you get a sense of this through the expressive mark making, obscured parts of the imagery.
Im glad i chose to simplify the compositions by not including a background, i think the message is a lot more impactful and they're visually striking.
- The places where i spent more time experimenting and creating many variations were the most successful in future i would like to balance my time more efficiently between work to achieve all at a similar standard.
