Session One;
- Learning that in our next brief we are to only use illustrator, I am a little daunted! But already, this workshop has made me feel more comfortable with the idea.
- covering the basics - how we create line, working in shapes really beneficial. - i still feel a little lost, so aim to spend more of my time learning how to use the tools and going over these techniques before the next session.
- overlay, pen tool, colour, merging/manipulating shape.
Session Two;
After this session i feel much more confident! - the pen tool exercise, - taught me how to control line, - grasping these skills would allow me to create any sort of shape with the pen tool - found this to be the most beneficial exercise.
- Putting these skills into practice. - using templates to draw around and copy was fairly straight forward. Next, I used a photograph to do with my chosen subject. Tracing this information was a lot more challenging, and time consuming, hopefully with more practice I can begin to improve these skills and work more efficiently. - think about simplifying the information into achievable shapes?
*note - think more in sections of shape than line - to fill with colour.
- Joining the mirrored image - object, path, join.
- Left - Reducing the opacity of the photograph to show pen line. - Right - removed imagery from behind left with outline.
