Postcard Development

- Concept of the postcards - to show movement that will flow through the set. she performed routines in front of the camera - want to capture some of her natural movement - bring her to life.
initial idea - have her legs moving - perhaps the colour changing between each image. too subtle? - feel that this composition is also too zoomed out. - needs to be larger in the frame.

- other compositions. - Bettie page did a lot of burlesque performances. - could be a routine of her undressing - removing an item between frames?
- colour change, more expressive marks - as she undresses - becomes more sensual.
- experiment of movement - quite subtle... change in colour could work quite nicely to differentiate if movement is minimal?

Final composition -wanted to crop down on the subject - focus needs to be more on her body. - but perhaps this is too far?
- decided to draw out final - zoomed out - more balanced in the frame - the movement/progression between each one is clearer - crop later if need.
- I think the movement in this series is the right amount of subtlety. they work well together as a set. - playful.

- plan of media. - want to continue with the painting - using a lot of expressive mark making
- could these strong brush strokes also represent her being strong powerful? not just emotion/troubles?
- Decided to work on red board - perhaps giving a different meaning to the marks - give her a powerful, dominating edge.
