- At this stage of ideas generation, i realise its more about the quantity than the quality. i feel it would have benefited me more to work at a quicker pace, I spent a little too much time on some drawings instead of exploring more concepts.
- Challenging - to create unique and interesting characters. It helped to think a bit about context and a backstory, - what tone of voice? what is their purpose?
- I wish i had also used this time to test different media. especially because at times i found it difficult to produce ideas, picking up a different tool can force you to look at things in a different way - offer new inspiration. looking around the crit i realised how beneficial this had been for others - something great can develop from gestural mark making, and shape.
Some of my initial ideas:
frustrates/makes you angry. - food in beard. ew |
frustrating - being allergic to all the best foods. |
Makes you laugh ( a lot of animals related to this theme...) |
something that frustrates you. Global warming |
makes you laugh. |
- Also something that makes me laugh. - think sloths are so cute. really enjoyed developing him as a character, think he's one of my favs. |
Feedback:
- Feedback - i agree with. need to be quicker - generate more ideas. - media testing - feel like this was a missed opportunity to do do, but will continue at the next stage.
- From the session,- I really need to consider the final outcome of the project - review the characters i have created and consider which have the most potential to develop. although i felt i could have pushed my ideas further, i still see value some that I have. so far i am most drawn to a few of my animal characters, - i feel like they show the most personality, and hold possibilities for development.
