Today, I really enjoyed the Mono print workshop. In using this process, i created some unique and interesting combinations of shape and texture.
- It was difficult to predict the outcome of each piece; with it being the first time using mono print, i found it much more beneficial to use large shapes, rearranging and playing around with layering and composition, rather than trying to recreate one of my final illustrations. - too detailed.
- Not working with mono print before i didn't really know what to expect from the outcome, but I really love the textures created, - the layering of colours produced some beautiful gradients.
- I realise now how much more useful i could have made this workshop. Perhaps within the experimentation, i could have considered how the colours and shapes could be relevant to my final outcomes. - perhaps i could have cut up and used these textures if more appropriate?/in-keeping with the theme. - as i love the hand crafted element.
- I think this process could be really beneficial to me in the future, however, i don't feel prepared enough, or have enough time to employ these skills into the current project with the remaining time.
-The process has inspired me to think of others ways of creating texture. From practicing and experimenting in todays session, i feel like i have a better understanding of how the process works. perhaps i could now develop these skills and produce more complex imagery?
- When considering texture- could mono print be more effective? the layering of colour more unique? more professional/refined quality? - (then current techniques)
